Leo horoscope

About Leo

Leo walks in and the lights seem to come up a little. You love big, you praise loudly, and you'd like a little applause back, thanks.

Leo is the lion of Nemea, whose hide no blade could cut, and wrestling it was the first of Heracles' twelve labors. The Babylonians saw a great lion in these stars too, so the picture's about three thousand years old. Its brightest star, Regulus, sits at the lion's heart, and the name means 'little king.'

Leo in love

Leo romance means big gestures and loyalty you can set your watch by. You want to be adored out loud, and you return it with surprise parties, love notes and your full attention. Someone who's proud to be seen with you, and says so, brings out your softest side.

Leo at work

Put Leo anywhere there's an audience or a team that needs a cheerleader. You lead with warmth, you hand out credit freely, and people want to work hard for you. Behind-the-scenes jobs can feel dim unless someone notices, so don't be shy about showing your work.

Leo as a friend

The Leo friend shows up to the open mic and cheers louder than anyone in the room. You bring the birthday banner, the good snacks and the hype. Gatherings feel warmer with you there, and people notice when you're not.

Best matches

Aries and Sagittarius share your fire, so nobody has to tone anything down, and the trines keep it easy. Gemini and Libra, both air signs, keep the conversation sparkling and the social calendar full. Opposite you sits Aquarius, just as stubborn, and the two of you make each other think.

Leo season

Jul 23 to Aug 22

Late July to late August is the high point of summer up north, when the days are long and everyone wants to be outside. Leo season brings vacation photos, outdoor concerts and a general mood of showing off a little. It's a great time to put your work in front of people or try something that needs an audience.
