What Eight of Cups means

Eight cups stacked neatly, and someone walking off into the night anyway. A thing can look fine on paper and still stop fitting. You're allowed to leave a perfectly okay situation for a better one.

Leaving is the whole story here. Eights bring movement, and in Cups that means walking away from something that no longer fills you up. In the Rider-Waite-Smith card there's a gap in the stack, a hint that something's missing even when it all looks fine on paper, and the traveler sets out under the moon, long tied to intuition, to find what's lacking. In a reading it's often about outgrowing something: a job, a routine, a role you've played too long.

Eight of Cups reversed

Halfway out the door and turning back, or staying because leaving sounds exhausting. Be honest about which.

Reversed, you might be scared to leave, or keep going back to something you know you've outgrown. It can also mean drifting, walking away from everything without knowing what you're looking for.

In love, work and money

Love

Leaving a relationship that's no longer fulfilling, or realizing you want something deeper. Be honest with yourself first, then with the other person.

Work

Quitting, changing direction or walking away from a project. Make sure there's something you're heading toward, so the leaving has a point.

Money

Letting go of something that cost more than it gave you, like a membership you never use. Go through your recurring charges and keep only what earns its place.

Yes or no?

Leans no. this card is about leaving, so whatever's on the table probably isn't the answer.
