Minor Arcana · Cups
Five of Cups
Tarot card meaning: upright and reversed, in love, work and money.

What Five of Cups means
Three cups spilled and you're staring at the puddle, missing the two still standing behind you. Something didn't go your way and it's okay to be bummed. When you're ready, turn around.
Grief gets its own card in the Cups, and this is it. Fives bring loss or conflict, and in the suit of feelings the loss is personal: disappointment, regret, something that didn't work out. The cloaked figure looks only at the spilled cups while two full ones wait behind him, and the bridge to the lit house shows a way forward whenever he's ready to cross. The everyday version is a plan that falls through, or the flat feeling after hearing no when you'd let yourself hope for yes.
Five of Cups reversed
You're done crying over the spilled ones. Pick up the two that made it.
Reversed, the grief starts to loosen. You may be ready to turn around, see what's still standing, and forgive yourself. If it drags on, though, it can mean getting stuck in regret, replaying what went wrong instead of looking up.
In love, work and money
Love
Heartbreak, disappointment or missing someone. Let yourself feel it, and lean on the people who are still there.
Work
A setback, a rejection, a project that didn't land. Be sad about it for a day, then make a list of what still works.
Money
A loss or a bad call, like a deposit you won't get back. Note what you'd do differently, then focus on what's still in the account.
Yes or no?
Leans no. something has spilled, and the focus for now is on the loss more than the next step.
Name one thing that's still good, out loud.
