The Chariot

Tarot card meaning: upright and reversed, in love, work and money.

The Chariot tarot card, from A Little Witchy's painted deck
On our card, a silver-haired charioteer in star-patterned armor drives a chariot pulled by two great cats in sphinx headdresses, one black and one white. Red banners stream behind, an arc of stars curves overhead, and a walled garden city glows in the distance.

What The Chariot means

Two sphinxes pulling different ways, and you holding the reins anyway. The Chariot is pure forward motion: the deadline sprint, the big move, the comeback. Steer with your head and keep your hands steady.

Seven cards in, the Fool gets a first big win, earned through willpower and a clear sense of direction. In the Rider-Waite-Smith version the driver holds no visible reins, so the two sphinxes, one dark and one light, are steered by focus alone. That's the lesson: opposing pulls inside you, like doubt and ambition, can move the same way if you keep your eyes on the goal. It shows up as the cross-country move, the exam you cram for and pass, or the comeback after a setback.

The Chariot reversed

Lots of revving, not much driving. Or you're pushing so hard down the wrong road that you've missed three exits.

Reversed, the Chariot loses its steering. Drive scatters in five directions at once, or turns into pushing so hard that people get flattened along the way. It can also mean a stall, where a plan has lost momentum because you're no longer sure where it's headed.

In love, work and money

Love

Someone is going after what they want, maybe you. Effort pays off, but love isn't a race, so leave the other person room to steer.

Work

A card of ambition, promotions and finishing tough projects under pressure. Set one clear target and keep going even when two halves of the team want different things.

Money

Discipline pays off, like sticking to a savings goal or getting ahead of a balance you owe.

Yes or no?

Leans yes. the Chariot is momentum and willpower, so it's a yes to anything you're ready to drive with focus.
