Tarot card meaning: upright and reversed, in love, work and money.

The Fool tarot card, from A Little Witchy's painted deck
On our card, a grinning young traveler in a patchwork coat strides off a mossy cliff with a bundle on a stick and a white rose in hand. A small white dog leaps at their heels under a full moon.

What The Fool means

A blank page and a backpack with snacks in it. The Fool is the card of starting before you feel ready: the class, the move, the first message. Glance where you're stepping, then step anyway.

Numbered zero, the Fool stands for pure beginnings, and the rest of the Major Arcana is often read as the Fool's trip from innocence to wisdom. The classic Fool steps toward a cliff edge carrying one tiny bundle and a white rose for an open heart, while the dog is either a warning or a cheerleader, depending on who you ask. Day to day it turns up as a first day somewhere, a beginner's class, or a move to a city where you know exactly two people.

The Fool reversed

Either you're about to leap without checking for the cliff, or you've stood at the edge so long the little dog sat down. Figure out which one you are.

Upside down, that open heart gets careless: signing before reading, booking before checking the dates. The opposite shadow is just as common, which is talking yourself out of anything new because you might not be good at it right away.

In love, work and money

Love

Good for a first date, a new crush, or a long relationship that needs one unplanned Saturday.

Work

A friendly card for the new job or the side project only your best friend knows about. Ask the obvious questions, since being new is the one time nobody minds.

Money

Fresh starts suit a new budget better than impulse buys. Before any leap that costs money, read the fine print once.

Yes or no?

Leans yes. the Fool is all forward motion, so it favors trying over waiting, as long as you peek over the edge first.
