The Empress
Tarot card meaning: upright and reversed, in love, work and money.

What The Empress means
Soft blankets, good bread, the plant that finally put out a new leaf. Everything around the Empress grows because somebody bothered to tend it. Feed what you want more of, and count yourself in that.
Often called the mother of the deck, the Empress, card three, stands for abundance, creativity, comfort and things growing in good conditions. Her wheat field and waterfall picture fertile ground, the twelve stars in her crown stand for the zodiac, and her shield bears the symbol of Venus in the classic deck. She doesn't force anything to grow; she sets up the right conditions and lets it happen. You'll recognize her in a garden coming in, a creative project that's finally flowing, or a home people like to linger in.
The Empress reversed
You've been watering everyone's garden but yours, or smothering something that needs room. Back off a little, and eat lunch sitting down.
In reverse, her care goes off course: giving so much to everyone else that there's nothing left for you, or hovering over a person or project until it can't breathe. It can also be a creative dry spell, which usually lifts once you feed yourself again, literally.
In love, work and money
Love
This card favors cooking for someone, lazy evenings in, and letting yourself be looked after too.
Work
Good for creative roles and anything that grows slowly, like a client list, a team or a following. Make your desk somewhere you'd actually want to sit.
Money
A steady, comfortable card for money. Spend on what really makes daily life nicer and skip the splurge that's only about filling a mood.
